Snooper Lynx Review
This is based on the Snooper Sapphire with the same user menu and options but it has been taken to the next level with the addition of an inbuilt battery or approx. 3 hours and inbuilt mobile phone SIM to enable the unit to automatically update itself and share data about spotted mobile van locations with other users in real-time. It also has a tracking feature to keep track of your journeys and mileage.
Full spoken alerts for camera type and speed limits are given, for example “Warning: Gatso, Speed Limit 50mph” and a countdown distance is given on the display and the unit beeps with increasing frequency as you get close to the camera with a continue tone as you pass. With the option of turning on ‘Smart Mute' however the full voice warning and penetrating beeps are only given whilst you are above the posted speed limit when approaching a camera warning zone. You also have some Logic modes to vary if and how you want to be alerted to cameras on the other side of the road in addition to your side. There is a nice feature to vary the display colour to something that fits in with your dash board instrumentation along with the usual volume and brightness adjustment.
