Mobile traps using handheld guns used tobe radar based but now the UK has moved over to laser guns. Laser however is a little more troublesome and is like a torch beam being flashed down the road at the speed of light. Therefore generally simple detection is not much help unless you have lightening fast reactions, but you can receive scatter from cars being targetted in front of you in which case you would get a bit of warning. However the ultimate laser protection would be from a laser parking sensors system or remote garage door opening system which will effectly jam police laser guns - as a by product you understand! These products below will fire back a corresponding light beam which will confuse the laser guns and stop them getting a speed reading from you.
